I doubt that there is any man who, when growing up in the 1960s and 1970s, did not encounter at least one Airfix kit! Maybe only one was built, most probably there were more than just two or three, maybe even a squadron of them was hanging on fishing wire from the bedroom ceiling. I know where I fell and this site is just a simple way of recapturing those memories and sharing the odd model or two with the world.
There are plenty of resources on the Internet now that any hobbyist can quickly find products, tips and tools, references to build pretty much anything they want. So this site is never going to be anything other than a display case of what I'm up to and what I've built so far.
If the truth be known, I actually hadn't made anything in quite a few years, but a trip to Telford to see the 2007 ScaleModelWorld show was enough to ignite a spark of inspiration.
Any modeller needs encouragement to get that spark going and to keep up the progress and after having sufferred from 'Modeller's Block' in recent years, I must thank all those at www.britmodeller.com who have come to my rescue. The What's on the Workbench page is dedicated to the inspiration and encouragement I received from the forum members in January 2008. So to you all at Britmodeller "Thanks guys, I'm building models again!"
